Throughout its history spanning more than 140 years, the DAIDOH LIMITED group has adopted "Customer First" and "Quality Oriented" as its fundamental corporate philosophy. Within the group, which seeks to strengthen management systems emphasizing corporate social responsibility (CSR), the establishment of thorough compliance (the observance of laws and regulations) and traceability (mechanisms enabling the group to retrospectively determine "when, where, by whom and how" products delivered to customers were produced, transported and distributed) is a vitally important related issue. Moreover, higher levels of product "safety and quality" are being demanded by the market as well.
At the same time, the enactment of various laws by EU nations and laws and other regulations in Japan restricting the use of dyes that contain harmful substances demonstrate that measures to protect consumers from various hazards are continuing to take hold.
Given these circumstances, and to respond to the heightened global call for even greater "safety and quality", the DAIDOH LIMITED group will further promote CSR and the CSM2000 certification pursued by its production sector in China, and will introduce "DAIDOH Engagement" (the DAIDOH LIMITED group's promise to our customers) as a more specific "Quality Oriented" action for products DAIDOH LIMITED supplies to the market, with the primary goal of "creating and maintaining mechanisms to guarantee product safety and ensure product quality" to customers, and will undertake this effort together with all of its suppliers.
In an era when corporate operations have become increasingly globalized and exert an ever greater impact on society, CSR activities have become the most important theme for every company and one that is essential for a firm's continued development. At the DAIDOH LIMITED group, we believe we must encourage individuals to act spontaneously to assume responsibility for all of our stakeholders whether customers, employees, shareholders or our local communities, and to assume responsibility for the effects of our corporate activities on the environment.
Throughout all of the divisions of the DAIDOH LIMITED group, it is our conviction that the establishment of a structure through which we guarantee responsible conduct enables us to advance sustainable management as a global corporate group, leading us to launch the DAIDOH Engagement System in 2011.
One vital component of this approach is the DAIDOH SUPPLIER Code of Practice. Based on laws, regulations, and international standards, the Code describes the minimum acceptable standards of conduct for individuals who are involved in the manufacture and sale of DIADOH LIMITED's products in all countries, businesses and occupations. The practices concerning social standards, for example, have been established in accordance with the core conventions of the International Labor Organization (ILO), while requirements pertaining to safe products are based on restricted use materials lists and the laws in regions where DAIDOH LIMITED's products are distributed.
The DAIDOH SUPPLIER Code of Practice is organized according to three fields of activity: "actions to ensure safety and product quality," "actions to ensure environmental and social responsibility", and "actions to ensure quality from manufacturing to sales". It is further organized into a total of six requirements consisting of two product requirements and four corporate requirements. Through these assurance activities, the DAIDOH LIMITED group will build sustainable trust and value.
